Description

If you want to treat varroa in a completely natural way, without any chemicals, you can use queen isolator for bee colonies, which is an aid and an useful tool in beekeeping. With the help of this tool, we are implementing the method of biological treatment of colony from varroa and direct its work and development. The practical application of isolators in the treatment of varroa and the conducted research have given better results in relation to the treatment of varroa with any chemical agents, as there are no negative influences or residues on the bee colony and bee products (honey, pollen, wax …), which otherwise occur with the use of chemical remedies. Namely, by placing the isolatorin the hive and at the beginning of grazing, the queen is limited to laying the brood only in the frames inside the isolator. Since the varroa lays its eggs in the cells of the beehive, by isolating the queen we force the varroa to spin on the frames inside the isolator, where the beehive is, in order to lay its eggs, and in this way we collect all the varroa in the isolator.  When larvae and drone larvae are hatched on the surrounding frames, which are not isolated, the varroa will be withdrawn from them to the insulated frames. Exactly because of this, in order to have the greatest possible effect, the isolator is kept in the hive for up to 27 days – the larvae hatch after 21 days, while the larvae of the drone need 24 days. We keep the isolator few more days due to predictable migration of varroa to the remaining brood in the isolator.  After that, we remove the isolator and frames, which were insulated, and in the hive remains quite purified colony, which got rid of up to 90% of varroa.  Such a colony should not be further treated by other methods and means. The recommendation is to put in a young queen that will compensate the brood quickly. Apart from biological treatment of the brood, it will also give better honey yield. The bees that are not chemically treated live longer; they are stronger and more resistant to diseases because they are not poisoned. Contribution to ecosystem is immeasurable, because in addition to the fact we do not poison people and nature with various chemical agents,  we do not shorten the life of the bees and thus they contribute to the development of life on the planet. Research showed that treating with chemical agents shortened the life of bees in 10 days. We know that life expectancy is 45 days in grazing, so we can’t chemically deprive it of 20% of life, as every hour is important to all of us.The frame insulator treatment can be carried out with a three-frame and single-frame insulator, depending on the method you prefer in your work.
